Faculty

We understand what law is all about!

The Poznań Faculty of Law and Administration has for many years remained an important centre of academic research and practical reflection, important on the city, regional and national scale, as well as in Europe and the rest of the world. Annually, masses of graduates leave and successfully support the ranks of public administration, law firms or entities from the world of business.

The Faculty staff combine academic background with long-term practical experience, and our rich offer of internships or traineeships abroad allows students to look at their studies from a different perspective.

The history of the Faculty

The Faculty in its original form was established in 1919, at the same time as the University itself. Initially known as the Law Faculty, it subsequently transformed into the Faculty of Law and Social and Economic Studies, and from 1921, for over 40 years, it functioned as the Faculty of Law and Economy. In the late 1960s its name changed again, into the Faculty of Law and Administration, and has continued as such to date.

The Faculty in numbers

Those who choose the studies at the Faculty are lured by: a rich and varied offer of courses, modern programs and unique projects implemented in cooperation with other academic institutions. A good legal education, theoretical basics and practice, and preparing for the profession are our priorities in education. We join forces with representatives from the world of science, public administration and business, preparing and implementing innovative solutions in the teaching process and allowing our students to gain experience already at the stage of studying.

That’s why we’re striving to make sure that our offer meets the needs of not only the domestic employment market, but also the European market. We aim higher, convinced that the graduates of our Faculty are not only well-educated, but also that they possess the predispositions to gain employment and key positions, and fulfil public functions in international structures.

Our mission

The Faculty creates its image as a university leader in spreading and promoting traditional academic values in the modern world. It is an internally integrated unit, but open to the challenges and expectations of its staff members and students, fostering strong relationships with graduates, to the immediate as well as a wider scientific environment, cooperating with the local community and business. The Faculty educates students comprehensively, offering both theoretical and practical knowledge. Students are educated in a spirit of openness to the challenges and expectations that graduates will be facing in a changing world.
